Role of GP Driving School GP Driving School acts as an agent for your driving instructor, who operates as a self-employed franchisee. We facilitate your learning experience by providing Website/App Services, including:
Enabling you to book driving lessons with your instructor.
Supplying necessary information or documentation.
Processing payments for your lessons.
Please note the following terms:
Agreement This agreement is made directly between you (the learner) and your driving instructor and becomes effective from the date of your first booking.
Payment Terms
Payment for lessons must be made on the day of the lesson or 72 hours in advance for first-time bookings.
If payment is not received 72 hours before your first lesson, the lesson will be cancelled.
Payment can be made via cash, cheque, or bank transfer (subject to prior agreement with your instructor). Bank transfers must be completed 24 hours before the booked lesson.
Block bookings must be paid in full upfront.
Punctuality
Learners must arrive promptly for their lessons. In cases where a learner does not show up, the instructor will wait for up to 15 minutes before cancelling the lesson, and the lesson fee will be forfeited or become payable.
If an instructor is late due to unforeseen circumstances, they will make every effort to contact you and compensate for lost time by extending the lesson or rescheduling.
Fitness to Drive The instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson if the learner is deemed unfit to drive due to alcohol, drugs, abusive behavior, or medication, in which case the full lesson fee will be payable.
Practical Driving Test The instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of the vehicle for the UK Practical Driving Test if the learner is not deemed ready to meet the required standard.
Test Cancellations by DVSA In cases where the DVSA cancels a practical driving test, no refund will be issued for pre-test lessons or car hire. Claims must be made directly to the DVSA.
Cancellations and Postponements
Lessons must be cancelled or postponed with at least 48 hours’ notice. Failure to do so will result in the full lesson fee becoming payable.
The instructor reserves the right to postpone lessons if road or weather conditions are deemed unsuitable or unsafe for training.
Refund Policy for Block Bookings
If you request a refund for a block booking package, lessons already taken will be charged at the standard hourly rate for individual lessons. Any remaining balance will be refunded.
Any unused hours in your account will expire and be considered void if there is a gap of 12 months or more since your last lesson, unless you have contacted your driving instructor to inform them of the reason for the delay.
Self-Employed Instructors All driving instructors are self-employed. Contracts and payments for driving tuition are strictly between the learner and the instructor.
By booking lessons, you agree to these terms and conditions.
